Acupuncture & Herbs

What can acupuncture do?

Acupuncture and Moxibustion (The use of burning herbs) are two of the therapeutic methods used in TCM; they both have histories stretching back thousands of years and have always contributed to the healthcare and medical treatment of the chinese people.

Acupuncture is an external therapy, the insertion of fine needles into the skin stimulates the body and regulates its functions to rectify impairment of the body's organs and improve their overall function.

Acupuncture is used to treat a wide range of illnesses; it is holistic treatment focusing on improving the overall well-being of the patient, rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms. Good health is dependent on the body's motivating energy (known as Qi) moving through the meridians (channels) beneath the skin in a smooth and balanced way. Acupuncture stimulates the body's own healing mechanisms to restore its natural equilibrium. It is well-known for its extensive application and significant curative effect without deleterious side effects.

What can herbal medicine do?

Chinese medicinal herbs are used in TCM as the main means to prevent and treat disease and maintain good health. They have been formulated and used for more than 5,000 years. Their basic principle is to eliminate the causes of disease, dispel pathogenic factors and co-ordinate the function of the various organs (known in chinese as zang and fu organs) and balance yin and yang , male and female elements of the body.
